Hi,

I’m Doug Rider, owner of Sharp Again - Blade Sharpening & Repair.

Like most guys in my neck of the woods, I have owned pocket knives since I was a boy. Later in life I got very interested in cooking. At that time I really started to appreciate good kitchen knives. A while back I bought a couple of new knives for camping and that’s when I got interested in sharpening my own knives.

I started reading and watching everything I could on the subject. I joined the Guild of Professional Sharpeners and took some courses on sharpening and marketing. At that time I started to think about monetizing the skill. In talking to people I met in my daily life I also realized that there are a lot of folks with dull blades out there and that I would like to help them to get their blades sharp.

I currently work full time as a software tester for heavy equipment, so I do sharpening in my spare time for now. I have found the work to be a good way to decompress when I’m stressed. I am looking forward to continuing this work into my retirement phase.

I have really enjoyed meeting new people and talking about knives and passing along some of what I have learned about good home knife care.

So, if you have blades that are not sharp or tips that are broken give me a call or email me, and I’ll help you to get Sharp Again.
